Milton got his green card... Wooooo Hooooo!

... or at least got an email late at night saying he was going to be mailed a letter stating he was accepted. For those of you who do not know, if a gay man is married to a gay Brazilian, there is no help with automatic immigration status as in when a straight Korean colleague of mine went to Korea, got married, and his new wife got her green card immediately... so M & I have been at the mercy and good graces of the SJUSD (may the good lord bless and keep the district safe from budget cuts forever amen) for sponsoring his work visa for the last 10 years!

Needless to say it has been nerve racking, sometimes horrifying, exciting, and has been the reasons for all sorts of bells and whistles to go off, plans to be made for me to immigrate, and then when his school district offered to sponsor him for the green card, to bring me back from Brasil so that M could do his doctorate here.

All of this would never have happened if our very dear Eda hadn´t been so good to him down in the Dept of Ed at the very beginning of his work here 10 long years ago... so a big hug goes to her, our madrinha para sempre!

So life is good... I will post all the congrats here as they come in.

Wooooo Hooooo!
