Dear Turn Off FOX Friends and Activists,

Something that's arisen in recent news requires some immediate action and help from you, our readers. Aside from the usual atrocities committed by FOX and its hosts, it appears that the charity opportunistically touted by Sean Hannity, "Freedom Alliance", may in fact just be an elaborate scam. But only an IRS investigation can determine the facts.

Sign our statement here calling upon the Internal Revenue Service to launch an investigation into the financial activities of "Freedom Alliance."

Freedom Alliance, founded by Oliver North of Iran-Contra infamy, puts on “Freedom Concerts” across the nation with Sean Hannity often listed as the presenter for said concerts. Purportedly, the money raised goes toward ailing veterans and the families of fallen veterans. In reviewing the tax return forms for the charity, though, fellow conservative Debbie Schlussel has claimed that very little of the millions the charity takes in actually goes out to veterans. Essentially, Schlussel accuses Hannity of using the charity to burnish his "patriot credentials" without actually doing anything of financial significance for the troops or their families. Instead, Schlussel contends Hannity just uses the concerts, essentially, as an opportunity to demand G5 jets and packs of large SUVs to transport him around the country and enhance his image.

At best, the charity should probably at least work harder on actually doing something for the troops rather than allegedly giving only $4 of every concert ticket purchased (with tickets ranging from $38 on up) toward the stated cause. One way or the other, Hannity appears to be despicably waving the flag of patriotism and compassion for the troops more as a marketing tool than out of genuine concern and accepting awards for his community service as a result.

Unfortunately, given the technicalities of the case, no one outside of the IRS really has the ability to find out the truth. Since Freedom Alliance files as a 501(c)3 organization, it must adhere to strict guidelines, as well, and the IRS certainly should look into whether the charity does so.

That's where we need your help. For more information on the case, check out the article on the website. If you agree that the prospect of Hannity using the troops for his own PR purposes under the guise of charitable work warrants further investigation, please sign on to the petition to get the IRS to investigate and forward this e-mail to a friend. The story picked up some traction with bloggers, but much of the media has chosen not to look into the matter seriously. Hence we need concerned readers like you to spread the news about the potentially ludicrous manipulation of concerned citizens by Sean Hannity -- and to help people learn why they should choose to Turn Off FOX.
