BUDGET PLAN HAS DEEP PAIN FOR SICK, ELDERLY, CHILDREN

In other areas of the budget, the governor’s plan would cause severe pain through massive cuts to health and human services, the state’s welfare program CalWorks, and prison healthcare funding.

CFA President Taiz said of these planned cuts, “Many of our state’s children, poor, elderly, and disabled will suffer from his plan. Healthy children learn better. Educational success is intertwined with health and the state’s safety net. These cuts will injure our shared future.”
