Only in Brasil… “tudo meia sinistro!”

The local movie theatre reopened and is showing films (dvd’s) every nite for free… tonite’s was 2012… right at the part where they are trying to refuel in Hawaii, and the President is about to be drowned by a tsunami… the lights in the entire city went out… the emergency lights in the cinema went on, we sat around for about 15 minutes, and then left… the students running the theater used the  term “tudo meia sinistro” – everything is a little sinister which made us both laugh all the way home as we stumbled in darkened streets of a city suddenly returned to the ciglo 18. 

We used the cell phone as a lamp, and made it to the apartment, when of course the lights went back on and all the student republicas cheered throughout the city… M made sopa de milho verde and is watchign Silvio Santos. I vow to buy candles tomorrow.
