Fergus Falls Keeping Underwear in its Place

Underwear and bra straps will have to remain out of sight next year in Fergus Falls schools now that the district has banned exposed undergarments.The language added to the student handbook at a recent school board meeting simply strengthens the district's dress code, said Elaine Jahnke, a spokeswoman in the superintendent's office.
Jahnke said there have not been problems with boys wearing saggy pants and girls having bra straps showing, but "we are staying up with current issues and to make sure everything is covered."
The policy will not go into effect until the 2008-09 school year.
