Saturday afternoon on the ponderosa

A few years ago, the parks was cutting all sorts of trees down, and I begged them to keep this guy - the oak, with great silver/aluminum colored leaves. He was up inside an ugly old cottonwood. I almost had to tie myself to him from gettgin cut... they relented, and I am so glad! He has grown a lot this year.


These only bloom in November, just before Thanksgiving... I had more but the shade is changing things here...
