Quote of the Day (via SacBee):

As a teacher for 30 years, I'll tell you what the problem is: lousy parents. People more interested in treating kids as consumers than children. Then there is the loss of music, sports, drama, languages other than Spanish taught in high school. We are a State -- and nation -- of fat lazy people too busy watching the television to bother teaching our kids manners, responsibility and self discipline. There are some groups that still hold these values. Their kids do very well in school, in life and in society. For others, it is in and out of jail and a culture that makes deniability the core tenant of their lives.
