It's us versus them. Californians against wealthy, powerful corporations. Who will win?

They will, if we don't stop them.

As the June 8 election approaches, the Courage Campaign is taking the lead in fighting back against the greedy corporations trying to take over California. Few others are doing this work and we need your help to keep it going.

PG&E has spent at least $44 million to pass Prop 16 and undermine affordable renewable power. Mercury Auto Insurance is spending $10 million to pass Prop 17 and undermine consumer protections so they can charge higher premiums.

The Courage Campaign is fighting back. Between now and June 8, we are organizing Californians to stand up against this corporate attack and to support Prop 15, which would bring fair elections to California, offering Californians the chance to start kicking corporations out of our elections.

We refuse to accept the conventional wisdom that this will be a low-turnout election dominated by conservatives. Instead we're going to build progressive power and hold back the forces of wealth and greed that threaten to overwhelm our state. That's why -- from the Central Valley to the coast -- we're reaching out to voters, informing them of the issues and getting them to the polls.

But we need your financial support to get out the vote. And we don't have much time. We've done the math and we need just 48 people in your county to contribute today. Will you donate $25 -- or whatever you can afford -- to help us defeat these greedy corporations on June 8? DEADLINE: Friday, 5 pm:

Here's what we're doing to win a progressive victory on June 8:

· Hosting "Progress Parties" from the Morongo Basin to San Francisco to inform people about their choices on the ballot

· Mobilizing our 45 Courage Teams to make thousands of "get out the vote" calls to Californians via our "Call for California" program

· Distributing our Progressive Voter Guide to progressives across California, via email, Facebook and Google ads

· Building coalitions with progressive groups to stop these greedy corporations

We're not stopping there. Once the June election is over we'll focus like a laser beam on the issues facing voters in the November election -- majority rule, legalizing cannabis, stopping the oil company assault on our clean energy laws led by Valero, and educating voters about the candidates for governor and U.S. Senate.

At the beginning of the year, we told you 2010 would be a year of progressive change in California. Now we need to prove it on June 8. We need just 48 people in your county to contribute today. Please make a contribution of $25 -- or whatever you can afford -- to help us beat back this corporate onslaught. DEADLINE: Friday, 5 pm:
