News from Cherie my brave former student in Fairbanks (check the link below)

Greetings again from Alaska

A week ago today two moose ran out in front of our car.

- One we were able to miss. The other was not so fortunate.

We think it tried to jump over the car.

It crushed the passenger side down a fair ways.

We were blessed to escape with only stitches, cuts, scrapes,

bruising, and a pair of shiners

( Cherie's face hit the moose as it crushed the car's roof down).

"AMAZING" was the word gasped by the fire-fighter

upon prying open the passenger door to get Cherie out ....to discover

her under the squished down roof of the car with only minor injuries.

Evidentially moose hit cars "too high up" to deploy airbags.

-- Nothing terrible for us when you think about it. One car.

As per Alaska law the moose was salvaged by charity (The Food Bank).

-- We are BLESSED - as we are both fine - and very thankful.

The Lumina is in the "salvage yard".

Scott and Cherie saved by Grace.
