A mounting body of economic research indicates that the rise in pay for company executives is a critical feature in the widening income gap.

While we all are constantly told about the importance of self-sacrifice as we watch our schools, libraries and fire stations close due to cuts, the richest of the rich are making out like bandits with record executive pay while the middle class continues to get squeezed out of existence.
