Oh, right wingers. I swear you must be perpetrating an Andy Kaufman-esque hoax on America... you seriously cannot be THIS clueless, offensive, ignorant, ridiculous... and racist.

This time, the performance artist is The American Spectator's "movie and culture critic," James Bowman, who is upset by "12 Years a Slave" because it shows no happy slaves and their benevolent masters.

Bowman writes, "If ever in slavery’s 250-year history in North America there were a kind master or a contented slave, as in the nature of things there must have been, here and there, we may be sure that Mr McQueen does not want us to hear about it."

He says that showing slavery as practiced in the American South solely in a negative light is "partial and one-sided."

Bowman even has the amazingly clueless balls to content that the film - based on Solomon Northrup's autobiography (you know... the story of his personal life experience) - is culturally dangerous "propaganda" and that "real" historians should "know better" than to submit to the machinations of the "politically correct" elite dominating universities and the media.

Sadly. He is not effing kidding us.
