***** FRIDAY PROGRESS REPORT *****

YESTERDAY marked 6 weeks since I bid adeus to Senhor Próstata (coitado).

Here I am walking and practically normal, except for this infernal leakage and diaperness. But Monday afternoon begins my physical therapy with the  zapper thingy in my whatchamacallit, and the road to "confidence and dryness" begins!

It's strange as I don't release when I am sitting, or lying down, But when I get up triggers a splash reflex... a real fralda filler. Walking is no problem, a little drippy but nothing of note.

Oh, and a good sneeze/cough... poots.

Lorena, the PT, says, I'm spot on where I should be, and after 15 meetings I should be back on track...  I am so looking forward to the end of this, waiting and waiting.

So for lunch we went up to our favorite hole in the wall restaurant, "O Sinistro".

Afterward, I wanted to go take a snap or two to share of the cruz before it faded anymore, while Milton took the bus to UFOP.

It is placed in a wide spot in the street, which opens up to look at the mountains (not the ones in the pictures above) behind Ouro Preto, where for 250 years the enslaved miners pulled tons and tons of gold out of the mountain. I walked down to the cruz on Rua Alvarenga. It is one bus stop before ours, and I often get off there and walk to HQ, as the street is pretty, and a moment at the cruz allows me to thank the 750,000 who died up there - the folks here refer to them as the ancestors - in the mines. I can't really look at any gold jewelry anymore, as it reminds me of the suffering brought about by those who retrieved it.

So I walked home, changed my delux infernal diaper, and laid down to rest a bit when a friend called to see if his brother who was going back to the USA could exchange dollars for reais... "sure!"

So now I will read a doctoral dissertation from Patrick a PH.D. candidate across the way, over in Ghana, who is doing a great study using ethnomodelling and ethnomathematics. He's a good one!

Life is good!

And let’s all visualize a big NÃO for radiation! (I meet with Wagner on the 11th to find out)

Thanks all! Gratidão!
