So it’s the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, and I’ve been thinking a lot about what freedom has meant, who it’s reached, who it’s left behind, and what kind of country we’re still capable of becoming.
I believe we can celebrate hope without rewriting history. We can tell the truth about the pain, honor the people who carried it, and keep building a future where freedom belongs to more of us.
I believe it’s possible. Not because optimism is easy, but because the alternative is too bleak… and because it’s true.
Beautiful things happen when ordinary people refuse to stop believing in each other.
